Unfortunately, due to COVID-19, our event will have to be cancelled. But, this does not mean that we cannot celebrate in some other way. That is why Cindy and I came up with the idea of having a video contest. It would be nice if you can submit videos showcasing Philippine-Canadian Heritage.

Here are the rules:
A video of reasonable length. Something between 30 seconds to 1 minute, but not more than 5 minutes.
You can be as creative as you would like but you need to give it to us no later than June 10.

We'll be gathering the submissions and draw out those that really stood out. Two winners will get a special Jollibee dinner for four bought by Kevin and Cindy.

If you are wondering what sort of videos you can do, here are some suggestions:

Singing your favourite Filipino song (traditional, OPM, pop-music)
A short dance (Tinkinling)
TikTok videos
Showcasing your skills in cooking Filipino food
Something that features your local association
Talking about important milestones and events (The Street Festival, Food Trip, Community Events)
The important roles churches have played
And so much more

Cindy and I will be doing a special posting on June 12 to mark Philippine Independence Day.
In November 2018 the Parliament of Canada 🇨🇦 proclaimed June as Philippine Heritage Month.
